DESCRIPTION:\nOverview\nThis workshop will address the critical needs for
a sustainable physical modelling capability over the next decade\, amid un
certainties in HPC technology\, programming languages\, and scientific str
ategies. We will explore how to best achieve a forecasting system that can
adapt to current changes in circumstances and requirements for model deve
lopment. These include the rise of machine learning\, which is becoming bo
th a tool for software development and a foundation for emerging numerical
weather prediction systems\; and also the shift towards shared code repos
 itories\, automated testing\, interactive visualisation\, and open-source
initiatives\, which encourage software development teams to embrace agile
software development methodologies and new coding standards.\nCall for abs
tracts\nOral and poster presentations contributions are invited across the
workshop themes. \nIf you wish to make a contribution\, please complete
the abstract submission form before 4 September. Please note that poster p
resentations must be delivered in person.\nWe particularly welcome submiss
ions from individuals who are currently under-represented within the field
.\nAttendance\nRegistration is now open\, with the option to join either i
n person or online. If you wish to attend\, please complete the registrati
